These past few weeks I have been working on the swing motor for my 1:8 scale CAT 349FL excavator. I am very happy with the results. I 3D printed the bottom piece as a test. The metal one should be done in a few days.

It has been a long time since I have updated this post. I have finally found some time to keep working on my excavator. I finished drawing the hose clamps and the bucket teeth. I printed them on my 3D printer to see how they would look. I am quite happy with results. I will now continue by casting them in stainless steel. I redesigned my boom as I was not satisfied with the previous one, it did not have enough detail. Let me know what you guys think so far Any comments or advice will be greatly appreciated.
Best regards
Cleo
I have two Jung IPZ1-HR10 pumps on my 1:8 scale excavator. So far I have been very happy with the results, with that said I have only run the excavator for a month now. Hopefully I won't encounter any issues in the future.
Hello Gerd, if you are working on Mac I recommend using Autodesk Fusion 360, it is great for starting to work with CAD.
Bonjour bienvenue.
C'est bien d'avoir un autre ami français dans le forum.
Hi Cleo1279,
if you have an other name, you like to get called, please let us know.
Do you havee some photos from your skidsteer? Especially the meshed tape?
I was now on a meeting of 1: 8er members in the south of Germany. They gave me some company, who can make for low budget an original rubbertape with the steering parts under the belt.
Regards Michael
Hi Michael,
You can call me Cleo, I don't have any pictures of my build. I only started working on it a little bit and I stopped to finish my 1:8 scale excavator. Making the tracks is not very difficult and not very expensive. But you will need to find the correct material for the track or else it will wear out very easily. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
Great Project, I am also working on a skidsteer but in a slightly larger scale. If you can not find the right rubber track you can also cast them yourself. I am not sure if they will be very durable but you can also use wire mesh to make it stronger.
Salut Cleo1279 [/ user],
Joli travail, et heureux de voir une belle réalisation venue de France. What about the patins de chenille?
Hi Cleo1279 [/ user]
Nice job, happy to see a model from France. Do tracks are casting models?
Oui, les chenille sont Coules en acier inoxydable.
