  • Hi Alexander

Thanks very much for the kind words

I hope to make many many more attachments for when my excavator is finnished, i am slightly concerned that the VHP Pulveriser may be too heavy for the R954C ? what weight of attachment could you R964C take?

Do u laser cut ur parts or use free hand?

    thanks

  • Hi Steve,

hmm... the lifting capacity of the 964 is round about 6kg. I´m not realy sure... i thing the limit of the attachmant weight is 2,5kg.

Most aluminium-sheet-parts and metal-sheet-parts are laser cut... the brass-sheet-parts, turend parts and most of the milled parts are handmade. It´s a mixture of both.

  • WOW! 2.5kg max attachment weight, that is great. i hope my R954 is nearly as good, what manufacturer of hydraulics are you running,?

untill now i have cut all my parts with a band saw but my next planned attachment is a demolition sorting grab from verachtert, so i thing im going to enquire about getting those parts laser cut for repeated accuracy,

    Hi Steve,

we use a Jung Fluid Pump-combination (3 pumps) and a brushless-motor. The cylinders and hydraulic valves are self made.

Laser cut parts are very comfortable and the accuracy is very high.

  • Hi Alexander,

My friend is building my excavator and we are using damitz hyd's and cylinders with self made hyd track motors and perhaps in the future a long reach boom and dipper,
But I am struggling to find a FLN paint supplier to supply the MvO colours, here in Scotland I may have to contact a supplier in the Netherlands, once my R954 is finnished we must get a group photo of the MvO fleet, :happy1:

    Thanks
    Steven

  • Hi Steven,

hmm... my hydraulicsystem runs at 28bar pressure... if you use damitz components, you can´t get over 15 bar... you should not carry to far the attachment weight.
:W: self made hydromotors? Please show some pictures! -Deee

once my R954 is finnished we must get a group photo of the MvO fleet

That will be difficult... scotland is so far away...

  • Hi Alexander,

To be honest I was unaware of this, that may seriously affect performance on a large machine like the 954 I may have to check that out. Thanks for the tip, in ur opinion will the damitz hyds be to weak for a R954

Once my models are complete I plan on doing a few shows in Europe because there is nothing like this level here in Britain, so u never know, perhaps one day,

    Thanks
    Steve

  • Hi Steven,

maybe you´ll get in trouble with only 15bar... the performance would be better at 25bar and adequate dimensioned cylinders. The piston-diameter schould have 14 - 16mm. Damitz builds very good components and the quality is high, but for a excavator of this size... i think its to weak, the 954 is just a very large mashine... :sorry: ... that´s my opinion.

Cool, perhaps we´ll meet one day... never say never. :trinken:
